Dental Implants

If you have a tooth that is missing or needs to be extracted a dental implant may be able to replace it. Dental implant placement is a surgical procedure. It involves placing a titanium post into the jaw bone followed by attaching a crown to that post which will restore function and esthetics. It can be used to replace a single tooth or multiple teeth. The procedure usually takes two or three appointments starting with placement of the implant. Then a healing period, followed by placement of the crown. This is a fixed technique and if properly integrated and maintained it can last a lifetime. Not everyone is a candidate for implants and a consultation with your dentist is the best way to learn if you are eligible.
